We're planning a trip to St Petersburg, Russia, within the next few months, a place neither of us have been.
- Has anyone been?
- Does anyone have any must see destinations?
- Restaurants/bars that we mustn't miss?
- Any tips or tricks at all?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Ooh! Ooh! We want to do this too!

Unfortunately I didn't get any info at all really. I've got a bunch of friends that have Russian grandparents, but no descendants seem to have been back since their grandparents had to escape on donkey carts in the middle of the night, so they're all waiting for me to go so I can tell them what it's like! They did tell me how to say "assh*le" in Russian though, so it wasn't a complete dead loss! Of course, it'll all be blogged about once I've been there.
DeleteGlad you're enjoying the blog.
Russia in general is on our list (whether St. Petersburg or Moscow or elsewhere). We've got a Russian-speaking connection in Moscow (a high school buddy of mine). We totally need to milk that while he's still there (it won't be forever). You'll read about it on our blog, if it ever comes to pass.
DeleteInteresting. My wife and I are headed there in September. My wife's piano teacher is from St. Petersburg and she has convinced a group of her students to go over in September. Looking forward to it. When are you going?
ReplyDeleteHi Dennis, thanks for your comment! There's a chance we'll go in August, but everything is still up in the air. If you get there first, let me know what's "un-missable". Have a great day!
